How To:

bullet

Colour the pinwheel on both sides.

Cut out around the outside (solid lines).

bullet

Cut along the dotted lines ** don't cut all the way to the centre!

bullet

Put a bead on the thumb tack.

bullet

Gently fold the four marked corners to the centre of the pinwheel.  Be careful not to crease the paper.

bullet

Push the thumb tack through all five layers of paper as indicated by the small circles.

bullet

Add the second bead to the thumb tack.

bullet

Push the end of the thumb tack into a dowel or pencil to create a handle for your pinwheel.

bullet

Blow gently to make the pinwheel spin.

  Tips:

bullet

If your pinwheel doesn't spin freely, try pulling the tack out slightly.

bullet

Using the beads as described also helps the pinwheel spin more easily.
